Marquita Nichelle Wright, a 24-year-old African American woman from DeRidder, Louisiana, tragically lost her life on August 27, 2018. Marquita was a dedicated dispatcher for the Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office . On that fateful day, she was found shot outside her home just before 5 a.m., shortly after returning from her night shift.
