In the late afternoon of November 16, 2019, 29-year-old Charles Dakota 'Koti' Arnold, a White / Caucasian male, was found shot to death in his car in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The discovery of his body at a location on North Sherwood Forest Boulevard initiated an investigation by the Baton Rouge Police Department that would soon uncover a fatal robbery disguised as a drug transaction.
Arnold, a resident of Denham Springs and an electrician, passed away at Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Rouge.
Investigators utilized video footage from the area to identify two individuals, a man and a woman, who were with Arnold around the time of his death. The man was distinguished by a pair of bright red shoes he was wearing. These individuals were later identified as 51-year-old Ronald James Irvin and 38-year-old Felisha Smith. Authorities located the pair living in a vacant apartment on Bard Avenue. A search of the apartment revealed the same clothing worn by the suspects in the video footage, including Irvin's conspicuous red shoes.
During questioning, Felisha Smith admitted to police that she had arranged to meet with Arnold to buy narcotics and that she had brought Irvin with her. Both Smith and Irvin reportedly got into Arnold's car to complete the deal. It is believed by authorities that their actual intention was to rob Arnold. Following their interviews and the evidence collected, both Ronald James Irvin and Felisha Smith were arrested and booked into the Parish Prison. They have been charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery.
