Ralph Dewayne Wilder, a 27-year-old male of African American ethnicity, was a Deputy Sheriff with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office in Louisiana. On January 10, 1972, he was shot and killed during a civil rights demonstration that escalated into a riot on North Boulevard in downtown Baton Rouge.
