In a tragic turn of events on a Thursday afternoon in Harvey, Louisiana, a confrontation between two young men ended in both of their deaths. Tyrique Agnew, a 21-year-old male, was inside his girlfriend's home when her 19-year-old ex-boyfriend, Brandon Graves, gained entry to the residence through an unlocked first-floor window. The encounter, which took place around 2:25 p.m., quickly escalated.
Graves proceeded to the second floor, where he was met by Agnew on the staircase.
Both men were armed, and a fatal exchange of gunfire ensued. The Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office later reported that Agnew died from multiple gunshot wounds. Graves sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his torso. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident stemmed from a domestic dispute involving the woman who resided in the home. Authorities from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office investigated the deadly shootout. As both individuals involved in the shooting died during the confrontation, no arrests were made in connection with the deaths of Tyrique Agnew and Brandon Graves. It remains unclear if anyone else was present in the house at the time of the shooting.
