On a summer holiday meant for celebration, the life of 18-year-old Thomas Edelen, a White male, was tragically cut short in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. On July 4, 2020, Edelen was visiting the home of his friend, 18-year-old Janosch Joushua Belle, for a barbecue. The gathering took a fatal turn when Belle decided to show Edelen his "assault style rifle" in his bedroom.
