On August 28, 2020, Joan O’Brien, a 73-year-old white woman, and her husband, Zoren O’Brien, 81, were found fatally shot in their home on Thompson Avenue in Iowa, Louisiana. The couple was discovered by a family member two days after Hurricane Laura had devastated the area.
