In the autumn of 2020, the life of 20-year-old Derrick Jermaine Sims Jr. was tragically cut short in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. On the afternoon of Monday, November 2, emergency responders were called to the scene of a shooting near Howell Park, at the intersection of Dougherty Drive and Frey Street. There, they discovered Sims had sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
