The senseless act of violence
that claimed the young boy's life stemmed from an "ongoing 'beef'" between two groups of individuals. The arguments had intensified throughout the day, culminating in the fatal exchange of gunfire on San Juan Drive around 6:20 p.m. Responding deputies from the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office discovered a large number of rifle casings in the street, a grim testament to the shootout that had just occurred. Jeremiah Tanan Scott, 21, Jeremiah Walter, 25, and Everett Chambers, 21, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
