On a Sunday evening in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 8-year-old Davian Nicholas was innocently playing basketball with his siblings and friends, just yards from his home. The day, which had been filled with the simple joys of childhood, took a tragic turn when a dispute between two groups escalated into a violent shootout. Davian, caught in the crossfire, was struck by a bullet and rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on March 8, 2026.
