In the quiet evening of October 10, 2015, the life of 33-year-old Hispanic male Eduardo Olivas was tragically cut short in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The incident unfolded shortly before 8:00 p.m. in the 1200 block of Cristy Drive, where Olivas sustained fatal gunshot wounds and died at the scene. Another man, aged 36, was also injured in the shooting but survived with non-life-threatening injuries after being transported to a local hospital.
The Baton Rouge Police Department quickly
launched an investigation into the fatal shooting. In the days following the incident, authorities identified a suspect in the case: 26-year-old Jaime Rivera. A warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder, turning him into a wanted man. The police urged anyone with information regarding Rivera's whereabouts to come forward to assist in the investigation and bring justice for Eduardo Olivas and the second victim.
