In the early morning hours of Saturday, November 21, 2020, the life of 36-year-old Jason Lee Livas, Sr. was cut short by an act of gun violence in Houma, Louisiana. A native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Thibodaux, Livas was attending a birthday party at the Main Event Center on East Street when the fatal incident occurred. Shortly after midnight, amidst a large crowd, Livas was shot multiple times.
He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries at 2:02 a.m.
The Houma Police Department launched an investigation into the shooting, and their efforts led to the identification of a suspect. On December 16, 2020, an arrest warrant was issued for 23-year-old Landon Johnson. He was located and taken into custody in Thibodaux.
Following his arrest, Landon Johnson was booked on charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with the death of Jason Livas. Authorities have asked that anyone with additional information regarding the shooting come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
