On December 19, 2020, Darrell Wheeler Jr., a 25-year-old African American male from Opelousas, Louisiana, was fatally shot while sitting in his parked vehicle in the 600 block of Patsy Street. Wheeler was found by Opelousas Police with a gunshot wound to the head. The investigation revealed that Eddie Stagg Jr., a 25-year-old resident of Opelousas, was responsible for the shooting. Stagg was arrested on December 29, 2020, and charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder. ...Read More
