On October 20, 2024, 29-year-old Jaleel Marquis Guidry lost his life in a homicide incident that occurred on Ina Claire Drive in Opelousas, Louisiana.
The investigation into Guidry's death led the Opelousas Police Department to identify 23-year-old Gerard Jervaris Griffin Jr. as the primary suspect. Griffin was subsequently arrested and booked on a charge of first-degree murder. He is currently in custody at the St. Landry Parish Jail.
