In the early morning hours of September 25, 2022, the life of 23-year-old Montarrio Dargin was tragically cut short in Opelousas, Louisiana. An African American male from the nearby town of Sunset, Dargin was driving a vehicle on Ina Clare Drive at approximately 1:00 a.m. when the night was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Several rounds struck the vehicle, fatally wounding him.
In a desperate attempt to save his life, he was transported by a private vehicle to a local hospital, but his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
