In the evening hours of Saturday, January 30, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the night in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, claiming the life of 29-year-old Christopher Akeem Smith. The fatal shooting occurred around 7:50 p.m. in the 4500 block of Gus Young Avenue. Smith, a male, was struck by the gunfire and subsequently transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle. Despite the urgent medical attention he received, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
