In the late summer of 2020, the community of West Helena, Arkansas, was unsettled by the violent death of a beloved resident. Eddie Earl Williams, a 67-year-old male, was killed by gunfire on August 17, 2020. Remembered by those who knew him as a man who always had a smile, his sudden and tragic death left a void in the lives of his family and friends. Williams was a retired custodian from the Helena-West Helena School District, a familiar and friendly face to many in the area.
