Marquise Jones, a 21-year-old African American male and nursing student at Southern University, was found dead in Lake Pontchartrain on March 11, 2021. Jones had been missing since February 25, 2021, when he was last seen leaving a party in New Orleans to head back to his mother's home in Slidell. His body was discovered by a boater running crab traps, who alerted the authorities.
