Anthony Francois, a man from New Orleans, Louisiana, died on May 5, 2021, at the age of 24. He was fatally shot by Khutbi Abdelkader, the co-owner of a vape shop on Canal Street, where Francois had been banned from entering. The incident occurred when Francois allegedly showed up at the store, banged on the glass storefront, and reached into his pocket, prompting Abdelkader to shoot him twice.
