In the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, the life of a 54-year-old African-American man, Adolphus King, was tragically cut short in a violent encounter on the night of November 20, 2007. Responding to a call for a person shot at approximately 9:57 p.m., police officers arrived at 4 Beale Street to find King suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was immediately transported by ambulance to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, Adolphus King succumbed to his injuries two days later, on Thursday, November 22, 2007. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined his death to be a homicide.
The Boston Police Department's Homicide Unit is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and contact the Homicide Unit or to provide information anonymously through the CrimeStoppers Tip Line. To date, the case is listed among the unsolved homicides for 2007, and there have been no public announcements regarding any arrests or the identification of any suspects in the death of Adolphus King.
