On October 17, 2024, 25-year-old Braulio Castillo of Jamaica Plain, Boston, was found shot to death inside a bullet-riddled car. The incident occurred in the area of Craftson Way and South Huntington Avenue, on the border of the city's Mission Hill and Jamaica Plain neighborhoods. Officers responding to a report of a person shot around 9:30 p.m. found Castillo in a black sedan suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was subsequently pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The crime scene showed significant evidence of violence, with the sedan having at least nine bullet holes through the passenger side window and more than 40 evidence markers scattered on the ground. The location of the shooting is near an apartment complex and a hotel, specifically outside the EnVision hotel turned shelter.
As of the current date, there have been no arrests made in connection with the shooting. The Boston Police Homicide Unit is still investigating the case and urges anyone with information to contact them at 617-343-4470.
The area where Castillo was killed has seen other incidents recently, including a robbery at gunpoint that occurred on November 14, 2024, at the same location. However, there is no indication that these incidents are directly related.
