In the early evening hours of April 7, 2018, the life of Geraldo Lerouge, a 27-year-old Black or African American male, was tragically cut short on a street in Boston's Hyde Park neighborhood. The day was winding down around 5:30 p.m. when violence erupted on Frazer Street. Lerouge was sitting in his car when he was fatally shot.
First responders rushed to the scene at 38 Frazer St. after receiving reports of the shooting.
Lerouge was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, but his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead. The incident marked the first homicide of the year in the Hyde Park area and the city's 14th overall.
The Boston Police Department immediately launched a homicide investigation into the shooting death of Geraldo Lerouge. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later officially ruled his death a homicide.
