In the quiet darkness of a Monday night in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a young life was abruptly extinguished. Donta Thompson, a 21-year-old male, was sitting in his vehicle at the Fairway View apartment complex on College Drive on the evening of January 3, 2022. It was there that the stillness was shattered by the sound of gunfire.
