In the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans, a vibrant life was tragically cut short on the night of January 9, 2022. Russell Ricou Jr., a 41-year-old man, was shot and killed following a dispute. The incident unfolded around 10:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Conti Street, near Burgundy Street. An argument between Ricou and another man escalated, leading to the fatal shooting. Ricou, who was unarmed, died at the scene from a single gunshot wound.
