In the West Lake Forest neighborhood of New Orleans East, a promising young life was cut short on the evening of October 7, 2024. Jvoine D Elow Jr., a 15-year-old male student at Martin Luther King Jr. High School, was found shot to death behind an apartment complex on Bundy Road. The incident marked a tragic moment for the community, being the first teenage homicide in the city since July of that year.
