On June 18, 2017, Vondell Holliman, a 63-year-old African American woman, was found dead in her home in Brunswick, Georgia. She was discovered alongside her husband, Carson Holliman, 64, and their grandson, Christopher Holliman, 24. The tragic incident occurred at their residence on Wolfe Street, where all three victims were found shot to death. The discovery was made after concerned members of their church, Zion Baptist Church, went to check on them when they did not attend Sunday services.
