In the fading light of a Friday evening in Alexandria, Louisiana, the life of 18-year-old Dexter Hymes was tragically cut short. On January 14, 2022, Hymes was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound to his upper body. The Alexandria Police Department responded to a call around 5:30 p.m. that day, leading them to the grim scene in the 4300 block of Lakeside Drive, an area adjacent to the Lakeside subdivision.
