In the early summer of 2016, the life of Donnie Harvey, a 43-year-old man from Pineville, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. On June 4, 2016, Harvey was in Alexandria where he sustained fatal injuries from gun violence. His death was subsequently investigated by authorities as a homicide.

Donnie Harvey was survived by his parents, a sister, and three brothers. Funeral services were held the following week at Zion Hill Family Church, and he was laid to rest in Cruikshank Cemetery.
