In the waning days of December 2014, the life of 45-year-old Thomas Michael Thompson was tragically cut short in Alexandria, Louisiana. A native of Baton Rouge, Thompson, a male, became the victim of a fatal shooting, an event that would unravel a sad family tale and lead to the eventual conviction of his own father-in-law. The incident left a community in shock and a family fractured by violence.
