On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at approximately 11:17 PM, the Alexandria Police Department responded to a shooting incident in the 3800 block of 3rd Street in Alexandria, Louisiana. During this incident, 58-year-old Verna Francis was shot and subsequently transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her wounds.
