On the afternoon of Saturday, December 6, 2025, a violent incident unfolded in broad daylight within the 3600 block of 6th Street in Alexandria, Louisiana. Officers from the Alexandria Police Department were dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:15 p.m. following reports of a shooting in the residential area. Upon their arrival, first responders discovered a 20-year-old Black male, Christopher Howard Jr., suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Despite the presence of emergency units from the police and fire departments, the young man was pronounced deceased at the scene. Neighbors who witnessed the aftermath expressed dismay and frustration, describing a growing sense of numbness to the violence occurring in the city.

At approximately 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025, officers arrested 19-year-old Douglas Domino in connection with the death.
