On June 13, 2023, at approximately 1:12 a.m., the Alexandria Police Department responded to a shooting incident in the 900 Block of Richmond in Alexandria, Louisiana. Upon arrival, officers found a black male who had been shot multiple times. The victim, identified as Marcus Atkins Jr., a 22-year-old resident of Alexandria, was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
