In the early hours of a Tuesday in Alexandria, Louisiana, the life of Marcus Dewayne Atkins Jr., a 22-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short. On June 13, 2023, at approximately 1:12 a.m., police responded to a call about a shooting on Richmond Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered Marcus had been shot multiple times. He was swiftly transported to a local hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced deceased.
