In the early hours of a Wednesday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a 26-year-old Hispanic man named Juan Enrique Reyes Lugo lost his life in a room at the Super 8 motel on Airline Highway. The date was February 2, 2022, and the circumstances surrounding his death would prove to be anything but ordinary. Responding to a call around 4 a.m., police officers arrived at the motel to find Lugo suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
