In the late hours of a Tuesday in Louisiana, the life of August Tujuan Latrall, a 34-year-old African American man from Jeanerette, was tragically cut short. On February 15, 2022, a violent encounter unfolded on St. Julien Road, near Highway 75, in a rural area south of Chataignier. A shootout erupted, involving three vehicles, and in the chaos of the gunfire, Latrall was fatally wounded.
