On the evening of May 24, 2015, 15-year-old Raheem Dameron, an African American male, was standing with a 14-year-old friend in the 4400 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue in Chicago's Bronzeville neighborhood. At approximately 8:20 p.m., a light-colored sedan approached, and an assailant inside the vehicle opened fire. Raheem was struck multiple times in the back and was pronounced dead at the scene.
