Jeffrey S. Lalond, a 46-year-old white male, tragically lost his life on January 6, 2017, in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. Jeffrey, who was born on February 23, 1970, in Waukegan, Illinois, was a dedicated chemical operator, having worked for 25 years, most recently at Ivanhoe Industries in Zion. He was a father to seven children and had recently been living with his parents following a divorce. On the night of his death, Jeffrey was shot as he exited his car in his parents' garage. His mother, Pat LaLond, was the first to reach the scene after hearing the gunshots and saw a suspect dressed in black fleeing the garage. Jeffrey was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the back of his head and was pronounced dead at Vista East Hospital.
The investigation into Jeffrey's murder has been extensive but has yielded few leads.
