Dominique Victoria Scott, a 23-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on March 30, 2017, in a drive-by shooting in the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred just after 11 p.m. when Dominique was riding in a gray van with 27-year-old Cornell M. Patrick. As they traveled southbound on South Shore Drive, a black Jeep pulled alongside their vehicle near 70th Street.
