Jiaerra Harris, a 19-year-old African American woman, was tragically shot and killed on April 2, 2019, in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. The incident occurred around 11:50 p.m. in an apartment located in the 6100 block of South King Drive. Jiaerra was shot in the back and was subsequently transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed her death.
