Irma C. Ruiz, a 40-year-old Hispanic female, was a dedicated Chicago Police Officer who tragically lost her life on September 22, 1988, while protecting the children at Moses Montefiore School in Chicago, Illinois. Officer Ruiz and her partner, Patrolman Greg Jaglowski, were at the school to address a disciplinary issue involving a student when they encountered a heavily armed gunman, Clemmie Henderson, who had just committed multiple murders at a nearby auto parts store.
