Amy Holmes-Sterling, a 29-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on August 17, 2014, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the Roseland neighborhood, where she was fatally shot by her husband, James Sterling, during a domestic dispute. The couple was in the process of getting divorced, and Amy had been receiving threats from James. On the night of the incident, an argument escalated, leading James to grab a gun and shoot Amy.
