In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Louisville, Kentucky, the sound of five or six gunshots shattered the quiet of a neighborhood near GE's Appliance Park. On September 18, 2016, police were called to the intersection of Rosette Boulevard and Ridgecrest Road around 11:30 p.m. Inside a car, they discovered 25-year-old Piter Perdomo, a Hispanic male, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Investigators believe he was alone in the vehicle when he was shot.
Emergency services rushed Perdomo to University Hospital, but his injuries proved fatal. He was pronounced dead at 12:13 a.m. The Jefferson County coroner's office later confirmed his identity and the cause of death as a gunshot wound. The incident left local residents concerned, with one neighbor expressing unease due to the number of young children living in the area.
The Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit immediately began an investigation into the shooting. Despite their efforts, the case grew cold. As of today, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Piter Perdomo, and police have not publicly identified any suspects.
