Following the assault, Joyner was rushed to the renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital, but despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his
injuries. The cause of his death was determined to be a result of the stabbing. The Baltimore Police Department opened a homicide investigation into the death of Ronald Joyner, seeking to bring a perpetrator to justice and provide answers for a grieving community.
