In the early morning hours in Baltimore, Maryland, a life was tragically cut short by violence. Thirty-year-old Danny E. Barnes Jr. was fatally shot on Friday, September 23, 2016. The incident unfolded in the 100 block of East Trenton Street, where the shooting occurred.
After being wounded, Barnes managed to run to his home located in the 1800 block of North Calvert Street. It was there that officers responded to a call at approximately 3:20 a.m. and found him. He was immediately transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital for medical attention, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
In the wake of the shooting, investigators began to piece together the events of that morning. They learned that a van was seen in the area at the time of the fatal shooting and sought to identify the driver.
