On the afternoon of March 24, 2023, tragedy struck in the Eastern District of Baltimore when 19-year-old Timothy Walker Jr., a Black male, was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 5:06 p.m. in the 3000 block of East Preston Street, where officers responded to a shooting alert generated by the city's ShotSpotter system.
