On the afternoon of March 24, 2023, tragedy struck in the Eastern District of Baltimore when 19-year-old Timothy Walker Jr., a Black male, was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 5:06 p.m. in the 3000 block of East Preston Street, where officers responded to a shooting alert generated by the city's ShotSpotter system.
Upon their arrival, police discovered Walker suffering from two gunshot wounds to his chest.
Despite the immediate efforts of medics to administer life-saving measures, the young man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Baltimore Police Department's Homicide Unit has since taken control of the investigation into Walker's death.
As of now, the investigation into the shooting of Timothy Walker Jr. remains ongoing. Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the case.
