In the early hours of a Friday morning in Baltimore, a city patrol officer on his way to a service call made a grim discovery. Laying in the middle of the 3300 block of Caton Avenue was 31-year-old Leo Cooper, suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. The quiet of the Southwest Baltimore street was broken by the arrival of paramedics, who rushed Cooper to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in a desperate attempt to save his life.
