Demonte X. Smith, a 28-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 12, 2021, in Chicago, IL. The incident occurred at a gas station in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side of Chicago. Demonte was sitting in a parked vehicle with another man when an unknown assailant opened fire, striking Demonte multiple times. He was rushed to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
