Juan Chavez, a 16-year-old Hispanic male, was tragically killed on June 15, 2021, in the Gage Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 10:10 p.m. when Juan and a 20-year-old man were walking in the 5200 block of South Artesian Avenue. According to police reports, an unknown assailant approached them and opened fire. Juan was struck multiple times and was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
