Benjamin Ortega, a 15-year-old boy from Chicago, IL, was tragically shot and killed on August 17, 2022. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the Little Village neighborhood, specifically in the 2400 block of South Trumbull Avenue. According to police reports, Benjamin was struck in the abdomen by gunfire. Despite his efforts to rush himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
