On April 24, 2016, 25-year-old Black male Justin T. Bowman was fatally shot in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood. At approximately 6:15 p.m., while walking with a group near the 3900 block of West Diversey Avenue—just half a mile from his residence—he was approached by 24-year-old Alfredo Ramos. Ramos exited a vehicle and opened fire, striking Bowman in the chest. Bowman was transported to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries at 7:07 p.m.
