Johnell Battie, a 19-year-old resident of the 2900 block of West Harrison Street in Chicago, Illinois, was fatally shot early Sunday morning on September 15, 2024. The incident occurred on the city’s West Side, specifically on the 3500 block of West 12th Place in the Lawndale neighborhood. At approximately 2:08 a.m., Battie was standing on a sidewalk when an offender fired, striking him with multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen and right leg.
