Desean Smith, a 25-year-old resident of Chicago, Illinois, was fatally shot on May 7, 2023, in a drive-by shooting. The incident occurred in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side of Chicago. According to reports, Smith was walking in the 200 block of North St. Louis Avenue around 4 p.m. when a dark Jeep pulled up, and someone inside the vehicle opened fire on him.
