Marshawn Pettis, a 24-year-old African American male from Waukegan, IL, tragically lost his life on June 22, 2021. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. when Waukegan police responded to reports of gunfire in the 2100 block of Williamsburg Drive. Upon arrival, officers found Pettis lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.
